Top pick: #6 (HERE COMES BEN) - "Ben" is a very good horse when he's 100% and that's what trainer Charlie Lopresti has him at right now. He won the G1 Forego on this surface last year and in fact he's five for seven at this demanding seven furlong trip. He comes into this off a win at Churchill June 24th in his best effort since the win here last Sept. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #3 (Aikenite) - He's another who's a specialist at this distance (3-for-4) and he comes into this off a two month freshening aftern running four times in the first five months of this year. Working fast locally and a major force in here with his best.
3rd pick: #5 (Gayego) - World traveler from the Godolphin Stable has only run once since finishing a strong third in last year's Breeders' Cup Mile (G1) at Churchill in early Nov. He's won here before, is training very fast and is a stretch threat.
4th pick: #7 (D'Funnybone) - Longshot is working very fast down at Aqueduct for this and this Rick Dutrow trained colt is four-for-six at this trip. He's capabale of a big effort on occasions but doesn't string them together. Contends today at a very big price.
