Top pick: #5 (TIZ A HOMERUN) - $300,000 son of "Tiznow" had some traffic issues when debuting here at this level and distance three weeks ago. He did well to finish fifth of 10, beaten 5 lengths in a race common to several others. Trainer Graham Motion wins at an 18% rate second out and at a 41% clip when riding John Velazquez.
2nd pick: #1 (Animal Spirits) - Colt by "Arch" is in a very good barn (Al Stall Jr.) who did pretty well with another son of the stallion: "Blame". Working well on the training track turf course for his debut and colt draws the inside post and has Robbie Albarado aloft. Can factor first out.
3rd pick: #4 (Ancil) - He has proven early speed and has run well in both turf sprints. Trainer Joan Scott will stretch him out today and he'll take them as far as he can.
4th pick: #2 (Arthur) - Nice debut here in a grass sprint July 27 saw him rally to finish third. Trainer Kathy Ritvo stretches him out and names Dominguez this afternoon. Can factor with a bit of improvement.
