Top pick: #2b (STAR GAZING) (9-5) - This race features a field of nine New York-bred 2-year-olds, none of which has started. This Broman home-bred by "Sky Mesa" is working fast for trainer Jimmy Jerkens, including a sparkling half-mile gate breeze on this surface on Aug. 11. Filly is coupled in the wagering with No. 2 "Artemis Agrotera" due to common ownership.

2nd pick: #1a (Livininthefastlane) (2-1) - She goes it alone as trainer Rudy Rodriguez scratched the other half of his entry. Working fine and must be left in the mix.

3rd pick: #5 (Alwaysinstilletos) (8-1) - Finger Lakes invader has been working fast there since early May and is in a capable barn (Anthony Ferraro). Jockey Pedro Rodriguez comes in for the ride and earlier in the meet this trainer/jockey combo finished second with a debuting runner at this level.

4th pick: #3 (Noon Time Shower) (4-1) - She was part of an entry due to common ownership, but will go it alone. Working well at Finger Lakes and it marks the return to the saddle of New York regular Mark Luzzi.
