Colt missed by a 'neck' on the local dirt going six furlongs for a $25K tag July 31. Asmussen brings him back quickly, moves him up in price, and switches him back to the grass. He was competitive earlier this year on the Belmont grass going longer against tougher and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #6 (Danny's Rush) (5-1) - Even-paced colt is racing third back off a long layoff and is shortening up in distance. He's racing into shape and appears to be nearing his best. Can factor at a square price.
3rd pick: #7 (The Pooch) (10-1) - Longshot has been competitive in two of three on the Belmont turf and he had some traffic issues in his latest there. Working well locally and stalker is capable of impacting at a big price.
4th pick: #5 (Frost Proof) (20-1) - Another longshot, he raced very wide after breaking from an outside post going longer at Belmont July 15. He draws a much better starting slot and is cutting back in distance. May grab a share at a very big price.
