2nd pick: #1 (Cranky Jack) - Lightly-raced son of "Unusual Heat" was an impressive maiden winner here at this mile distance Oct. 13, and will take on winners for the first time. Has the rail, fine early speed, and his trainer (Gary Stute) is having a solid meet. Win candidate should be involved from start to finish.
3rd pick: #11 (Sir Bell) - Freshened up since early Sept., this consistent 8-year-old just missed racing at this price at Del Mar at that time. Effort was his best ever on the infield and his lone turf win came on this course. Needs to avoid a wide trip from this post.
