Premium Pick

Top pick: #9 (MY LUCKY ROSE) (2-1) - Speedy filly has been tiring in her starts, but all have come against much tougher fields. Kaleem Shah home-bred drops to a new low in price, and trainer Bob Baffert has this daughter of "Stormin Fever" spotted to win.

2nd pick: #11 (Violate) (4-1) - Cal.-bred showed noting in her first pair at Del Mar, but both were against maiden special weight "open" company. Trainer Adam Kitchingman drops her into a claimer, adds blinkers, and has her racing on real dirt for the first time.

3rd pick: #10 (Frandontjudge) (5-1) - She was bet down to favoritism last out at Fairplex, but had a tough outside post and checked in third after a very wide trip around both turns. The O'Neill barn has worked her since and daughter of "Benchmark" must be left in the mix.

4th pick: #8 (Shoot Me Another) (8-1) - Longshot was away slowly and never involved when debuting against Cal.-bred special weights at Del Mar on Aug. 31. Filly by "High Brite" has worked twice locally since then, drops into a claimer, and goes from "poly" to real dirt.

5th pick: #4 (Jade and Sauci) (12-1) - From a good barn (Vann Belvoir), he adds blinkers and shortens this longshot up in distance after she made a bid and tired to finish fourth at Fairplex on Sept. 15 going 8.5 furlongs. She could get a share at a big price.
