Top pick: #1 (GOLDEN CHALICE) (5-2) - Coly by "California Chrome's" sire "Lucky Pulpit" was bet heavily when debuting here going "down the hill" here April 4th, but raced evenly while widest to finish last of 10. Trainer Carla Gaines adds blinkers, switches him to the dirt, and stretches him out to a mile. Working fast, has the rail, and he's the horse to beat.

2nd pick: #6 (Frensham) (2-1) - Dangerous foe, he moves back in with Cal.-bred maidens after a pair of efforts facing stakes company. Reddam home switches back to the dirt and is a win candidate.

3rd pick: #3 (Cinematic Cat) (5-1) - Gelding has fine early speed and moves back up in class after a pair of sharp local sprints facing a bit weaker. He's yet another that's working fast and is trying a two-turn trip for the first time.

4th pick: #2 (Granzanette) (3-1) - Filly takes on the boys, runs off a 7 month layoff, and does so for a new trainer (Phil D'Amato). Home-bred is working both steadily and above average for her return and can factor if ready.
