She tracked early while racing wide, made a solid bid turning into the stretch, but weakened in the final furlong. 2nd pick: #4 (Malibu Honey) - Home-bred daughter of "Malibu Moon" runs for the Baffert barn (21% first time out (and he's worked her six times since Dec. 31). The latest was a near bullet half-mile breeze just six days ago and that was her first drill on real dirt. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Channel of Gold) - Florida shipper has a new trainer (Melody Conlon) and she'll move this $100K filly by "Bernardini" to the dirt and shorten her up in distance. Working fine at Hollywood Park and blinkers go on for the first time.
