2014-WEST-COAST Season Horse Racing Past Picks
April 03, 2014
SANTA ANITA Race #2
Thursday 04/03 01:30 PM Eastern
Top pick: #4 (CLEARLY CONFUSED) (5-2) - Filly has won three of her last four, all on this surface, the latest a career best from a "figure" standpoint. Daughter of "Successful Appeal" moves up in class in her first off a Doug O'Neill claim and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Vicki Victoria) (3-1) - Mare loves this surface 6-2-2-0 and was a winner here for a $20K tag Feb. 21. Speed/stalker has back class and looks like the main danger.
3rd pick: #3 (Sweetrayofsunshine) (9-2) - Grey mare hasn't seen action since late April when she won a race at Hollywood at this tag going 8.5-furlongs. She knows how to win (6-for-10) and is 4-for-5 on this surface. Working fast for her return and it's of note that Bejarano is aloft for the first time.
4th pick: #1 (Fanny Brice) (6-1) - Lightly raced, she drops to a new low in class, has the rail, and some early speed. Don't just dismiss.
