He's moving out in the gate and is racing with blinkers on. The last time he wore the 'hood' he missed by a 'neck' here June 15. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #6 (Big Royalblackjack) (12-1) - Long shot ships in from Penn National where he's been competitive in three of six starts on the dirt. They came after he returned from a 8 1/2 month layoff in late May and this gelding has a fine local record 8-2-2-3. Looks set for a big effort at long odds.
3rd pick: #3 (Sip N Zip) (9-2) - One-run type has been sharp 5-0-4-1 in all local appearances since coming here from Finger Lakes in early July. He needs a clean trip in this large field for a shot at the top prize.
4th pick: #11 (Indigo Kitten) (8-1) - Much improved of late, he was a sharp winner here at this tag and trip Sep 3. He cleared the 2l condition that day and earned a career best figure in the process. A threat right back.
