Top pick: #6 (GUYANA STAR) (7-2) - Veteran mare races first a Gerald Bennett re-claim. He paid up an additional $3,750 to get her back and he had success with her this past winter at Tampa Bay Downs. Five-year-old is switching from turf to dirt and shortening up in distance.

2nd pick: #7 (Sally Oh Sally) (4-1) - Mare has done most of her best work here at Presque Isle 10-4-2-1 and is racing for the first time since Sep 18. She won here off a similar layoff in early July of last year and speed/stalker is a strong win candidate.

3rd pick: #5 (Carpe Pretium) (10-1) - Another veteran who has had all of her success locally 12-5-3-0. She ran very poorly on the Mountaineer dirt in her seasonal debut May 9th in what may have been a conditioning run. Can factor with her best at a square price.

4th pick: #3 (Midsummer's Eve) (8-1) - No-speed type ships in from Mountaineer Park where she rallied from far back to finish third there at this level going 7-furlongs on the turf May 11th. This is her first ever on a synthetic surface and at this point a small slice appears to be her ceiling.
