The Pittsburgh Pirates were the Miami Marlins of this year for over two decades. They began to get things turned around two years ago, and in 2013 this team has come of age. One thing they have been able to do better than any other team is win the games they are supposed to win, and not become lackadaisical when facing what looks like a sure-win game. The Pirates stand on top of MLB when it comes to games vs. teams under .500 where they are 37-15 on the season. That includes 19-8 on the road. The Marlins have struggled vs. winning teams where they are 17-35 in 52 tries against them. Some teams are vulnerable to a letdown in this spot, but that has not been the Pirates' demise this season.
