Pittsburgh at Detroit

I have a lot of respect for what Justin Verlander has done in the past few seasons, but the Tigers are really struggling and have lost their way and confidence. They are just 9-11 at home, and just got swept by the lowly Minnesota Twins. Verlander was forced to leave his last start early with a broken callous on his pitching hand, which could inhibit him here. The Tigers are just 7-6 in Verlander's last 13 starts, so this game isn't a slam dunk by any means. Pittsburgh is vastly improved and has a much better bullpen in this one as well. The Pirates were once an interleague disaster, but have gone 6-2 in their last eight, and 4-1 vs. a team with a losing record. Play on Pittsburgh.
