Pittsburgh is THE worst road team in the league with a 5-23 mark and send a struggling pitcher to the mound today. That 5-23 mark includes 2-16 following 2 straight road games. Oliver Perez has a 5.98 ERA and lasts just 4.7 innings per start on the road. The Pirates just can't score away from home, putting up 3.6 runs per game. Colorado is surprisingly having trouble scoring this season as they are putting up just 4.0 per game. But, I think Pitt is just that bad on the road that Colorado is a good bet today at virtually even money. History backs us up as road underdogs stranding 6.9 or less runners on base per game starting a pitcher whose WHIP is 1.750 or worse on the season are just 14-58 (19%) over the last 5 seasons. And, Colorado's Josh Fogg is 26-16 over the past decade vs. teams that post 7+ strikeouts per game. Fade the worst road team in the leauge here.
