Pittsburgh at Cincinnati

Pittsburgh hitters came to life on Thursday as the Pirates pounded the Phillies 15-2 while scoring eight runs in the ninth inning. The Pirates face Ryan Stephenson for the second time in a week, and he gave up four runs and five hits in three innings at Pittsburgh on Saturday. Stephenson made one other start in September against the Mets and the other two were back in April. Pittsburgh is fourth in the majors in runs scored against right-handers with 533 as they cling to an outside chance for a Wild Card spot. Cincinnati is in last place in the NL Central and has lost five of its last seven home games and four of its last five after a loss. The Reds were also shut out by Milwaukee on Wednesday.
