Phoenix at New York

Despite a weak Eastern Conference this season, the New York Liberty will be sitting on the sidelines come playoffs time. Phoenix has nothing really to play for, as they are pretty much locked into the No. 3 seed in the West, and will get a chance to reduce minutes for their key players. The Liberty hung tough in Phoenix early in the season, getting the cover in a 7-point loss, and I think this game is more of a toss-up with the situation described above. The Mercury have never displayed focus when taking on a losing team where they are a woeful 5-20-1 ATS in their last 26 when taking on a losing club. They have also had no recent success against this New York team, as they have failed to cover the last four meetings. Play on New York.
