LOSS

The Washington Nationals still have something to play for and have a chance to make a run with a string of games against bad teams. Washington is on a 7-4 run to revive its sagging playoff chances. In their last seven wins, they've scored 56 runs for an average of eight runs. Washington is 7-1 against the NL East and 4-0 against a team with a winning percentage below .400. The Nationals unleash starter Jordan Zimmermann (13-8, 3.49 ERA), who is 5-0 over his last seven starts after holding the Miami Marlins to two runs and six hits in seven innings his last time out. The Nationals are 48-15 when Zimmermann starts against a team with a losing record, including 27-5 at home. He faces a Philadelphia Phillies offense that is #28 in runs scored and dead last in on-base percentage. This offense has been abysmal down the stretch, scoring one run or less in five of the last eight games. The Phillies have lost eight of nine following Thursday's 1-0 loss in Miami. Washington has won six of the past seven meetings to improve to 11-5 in the season series and will roll. Take Washington to win by at least two.
