WIN

A pair of aces hook up in Washington! At least on paper. Philadelphia starter Cole Hamels (1-7, 4.45 ERA) used to be an ace, but is having a big dropoff season...and getting worse at 0-3 with a 4.76 ERA his last three starts. His ERA is a career-worst. Hamels is struggling with his control for the first time in his career, walking 3.81 batters per nine innings, while only striking out 7.46 per nine. The Phillies are 1-4 in Hamels' last five road starts and while they come off a win, the Phillies are 1-4 in their last five games following a victory. The aging Philadelphia offense is terrible, 26th in baseball in runs scored, 25th in on-base percentage and 24th in slugging. Washington is home, and the Nationals are 36-16 in their last 52 home games vs. a left-handed starter. Ace Stephen Strasburg (2.66 ERA) is on the hill fanning 62 in 64 innings with only 51 hits allowed. He's on a roll with a 0.90 ERA his last three starts, and the Phillies are 2-5 in the last seven meetings. Play the Washington Nationals on the Run-Line.
