Philadelphia at Miami

Just like there will be battles for playoff qualifications, this game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Miami Marlins represents a pair of teams that have long been eliminated from contention. Miami will have the upper hand here on the mound as Philadelphia sends Jerome Williams to the hill. Williams is winless in his last eight starts. Miami will turn to Brad Hand who saw his numbers become inflated off of his worst start of the season. However, he has strong numbers vs. the Phillies where he has a career 3.44 ERA against them in nine appearances, five of which were starts. The Phillies are just a woeful 2-9 in Williams' last 11 road starts, and 19-50 in their last 69 as a road dog. The Marlins have stood tall as a home favorite where they are 12-2 in their last 14.
