Mare had won her previous start at Tampa Bay Downs in wire-to-wire fashion and is capable of running a half-mile in under :45. Five-year-old can take this group from start-to-finish.
2nd pick: #5 (Ponderosa) (3-1) - One-run type has been freshened up since late December. In the barn of the leading trainer here last year (Ramon Preciado), he's four for six since the track reopened a week ago. This veteran mare is a threat from off the pace if ready off the 70 day break.
3rd pick: #8 (Gorgeous Sunrise) (6-1) - Speed/stalker ships in from Penn National and is making her Philadelphia Park debut. She's regressed a bit in her last pair after three straight solid efforts at this level. Can factor, especially if 'Ponderosa' needs a race following her short layoff.
4th pick: #6 (Alice and Trixie) (9-2) - Tampa Bay Downs shipper races off a private sale to owner/trainer Alexander Martinez. Mare was competitive in three of four starts in Florida and finished second at this tag Jan 6. Must be left in the mix.
