LOSS

Oregon has had a wonderful season. They finished 10-1 and their lonely setback came at the hands of SC, with an exceptional performance from Reggie Bush. Oregon will need to focus on stopping Peterson here, as he is the oil in the Sooner offense. OC Chuck Long is gone to SDSU, so it will be interesting to see what the Sooner offense can do here. Rhett Bomar has been shaky in his first season as the starter but is a tremendous athlete who can make the Ducks pay on blitzes with his feet. He is mistake prone and it will take a mistake free game from him for the Sooners to have a chance here. The Sooners do not have the offensive firepower to match the Ducks. That much we know. While the Sooners defense has improved, it will not be enough. A little worried about Oregon's motivation here (wanted a BCS bowl) but still think they will come to play and if they do, they should cover this spread. There's risk of an Oklahoma letdown as well as a team that has played for three national championships in the last five years can't be pleased with a December bowl game. Oregon minus the points for two stars.
