Oakland at Seattle

Seattle has won 11 of the last 13 meetings, including Tuesday's 6-3 win as Nelson Cruz hit a tie-breaking three-run homer in the fifth inning and Dee Gordon had five hits for the Mariners. James Paxton goes tonight and Seattle has won his last four starts, including a 5-4 victory at Cleveland on Thursday when he gave up two runs on five hits in six innings with 10 strikeouts. Paxton has 44 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings this season and he has pitched better than his 5.12 ERA indicates as he had two bad outings and four good ones. Oakland has lost four of its last five and the Athletics are 6-9 on the road and they have lost seven of the last eight meetings at Seattle. The Mariners have won eight of their last 11 against teams with losing records and five of their last seven versus left-handed starters. Brett Anderson will make his first start of the season for the Athletics. Back the Mariners.
