LOSS

The combined ERA for these two pitchers is 6.59. Tim Redding hasn't pitched much but in his limited action, he's posted a 3.00 ERA. Wakefield has been tremendous, especially at home where he has allowed just four runs in 21 innings pitched. Both of these pens have been great this year with the Mets posting a 2.80 ERA and the Red Sox a 3.04 ERA. The Mets are thought of as a power team, but the fact is, they are averaging just 4.8 runs per game on the season and they have struggled mightily of late, averaging just 3.3 runs per game over their last seven. Boston is similar. While they started off hot, their offense has cooled, averaging only 3.9 runs per game over the past seven games. Over the past three seasons, the Red Sox are 16-4 to the UNDER following back-to-back losses by two runs or less each. I like this one to go UNDER again.
