Yes, this is a meaningless game in some sense as it's just a preseason game. But in another key way, it's not meaningless at all. First-year coach Rex Ryan and the Jets lost their opener. If you've seen this guy flap his trap this off-season, you know he doesn't take kindly to losing or looking the fool. He loves the spotlight and he loves to talk trash. I really expect him to want to make a good showing here on the national stage. Starting off 0-2, and losing on Monday Night Football doesn't mesh with hte message he's trying to send to his team and the media - that the Jets are now a winning team with Super Bowl aspirations. No, this is not a meaningless game for Rex Ryan. John Harbaugh, in his second year with the Ravens, has now won both of his openers, but has yet to win in any other week of the preseason. This will be a return home for Ryan as he spent the past 10 years as an assisstant in Baltimore. Mark Sanchez will get the start at QB, and was impressive in limited action in week one where he went 3-4 for 88 yards. The Ravens have five QBs on the roster, and with the injury to John Beck, the QB rotation will take a steep fall once they get to No. 3. I have a preseason system that backs certain underdogs in week two that has produced a 69% win rate over the past 15 years including a 14-5 mark the past three seasons. I'll back New York here in this one.
