The most disappointing team thus far in the 2013 NFL season has to be the New York Giants. Many thought that this team was a playoffs caliber team, but they are 0-5 coming into this game - a very ugly 0-5. This team has been outscored 82-182 and they have allowed 31+ points in all five games. That being said, they are only two games out of first place in the ugly NFC East, and are not yet out of the playoffs chase. They need to right the ship quickly, and that is going to rest on the shoulders of Eli Manning. Manning has 12 INTs already on the season. The good news is that he is on pace to throw for the second most yards of his career, so the Giants are moving the ball. Really what it comes down to for the Giants is turnovers. They have turned it over 20 times in five games, so it's really no wonder why they are losing and losing big. If this pace continues, they would set a single season record for most turnovers. If and when they can correct that one problem, this team can start winning games. The Bears are 3-2 to start the season, but 0-2 in their last couple of games. Chicago has recorded just eight sacks on the season which bodes well for Eli Manning. This is the preferred role for the Giants as Eli Manning is 26-16 ATS as an underdog since 2007 and the G-Men are 35-17 ATS on the road as long as they are not a favorite of more than a field goal. Under Tom Coughlin this team is 24-11 ATS in October games and 25-15 ATS on the road vs. winning teams. This is a do-or-die game for the Giants. If they start at 0-6 the lights go out, and they are better than what they have shown. I look for a better effort here and them staying within this large number. Take the G-Men tonight.
