The Washington Nationals are projected to be the best team in MLB this season, as they have assembled a dynamic and star-studded pitching staff. It wasn't the pitching that led to their undoing in the opener vs. the Mets, it was errors and a punchless attack that sent them home with a disappointing 3-1 loss. They may face a similar fate here tonight as the Mets send Jacob deGrom to the hill, and last season his ERA matched that of Jordan Zimmermann. deGrom was even better as he got his feet under himself, posting a sizzling and stingy 1.90 ERA in his last 12 starts. I think the Mets have a favorable matchup here as a dog, and ride the momentum of their opening day win to another in this contest. Back the Mets in this one.
