New York at Miami

Jacob deGrom picked up where he left off last season allowing no runs on five hits in six innings as he outdueled Max Scherzer in Thursday's opener and New York won 2-0. The right-hander struck out 10 and walked one, and he comes off a 2018 season when he had a 1.70 ERA and .196 opponent batting average. He won only 10 games, but that was due to the Mets' weak hitting, though the offense is much improved this year. Trevor Richards goes for Miami, and he gave up one run in six innings against Colorado. Miami is off to a 2-4 start and lost 6-5 to the Mets on Tuesday. Richards allowed six runs (four earned) on 13 hits in 11 2/3 innings versus the Mets in 2018. The Marlins are 19-41 their last 60 games overall and 3-8 in Richards' last 11 starts. New York has won five of the last six meetings at Miami. Take the Mets.
