New York at Miami

Miami split its first four games, and it comes off an impressive 3-0 win over the Rockies as Jorge Alfaro drove in two runs and Sandy Alcantara pitched eight strong innings. New York lost its first game at Washington as Trea Turner homered twice, including a game-winner in the ninth inning. Caleb Smith goes for Miami tonight as he did his best work at home last year where he had a 3.13 ERA. Smith made two appearances against the Mets and gave up four runs in 11 2/3 innings. Steven Matz makes his first start for the Mets after finishing 5-11 in 2018, and he had a 4.98 ERA in April plus Matz was only 1-4 after the All-Star break. The Mets are 16-38 their last 54 games after scoring at least five runs their previous game, including 5-16 in Matz's last 21 starts in that situation. Play the Marlins.
