Premium Pick
1.5 units on Game Total UNDER 63 -120 (risk 1.5 to return 2.75)
Result:
WIN

This is a huge posted total due to recent meetings between the schools. However, this year is different as SMU is breaking in a new coach and offense and the Mustangs have averaged only 18.3 points their first three games. The first two games went UNDER against North Texas and TCU and last week's game at Michigan sneaked OVER by a half-point. The Mustangs are averaging only 272.3 total offense yards, including only 81.7 on the ground, which is typical of a Sonny Dykes team. However, the passing game hasn't come together yet as three quarterbacks finished a combined 19-of-34 for only 209 yards with three TDs and an interception in the loss to the Wolverines. That is adequate, but far from what is expected from Dykes' offense. Navy went UNDER against its last FBS opponent, Memphis, in a 22-21 win and the Midshipmen still have a ways to go as they return only four starters on offense. They are averaging 358.0 rushing yards, which is about normal for them, while allowing opponents 413.3 total yards per game. Navy has stayed UNDER in six of its last eight road games and they are 7-1 UNDER their last eight after scoring at least 40 points its previous game. SMU is 4-1 UNDER its last five home games. Take the UNDER.
