The Twins offense has sputtered for the most part all season, and now they have to function without Denard Span, Justin Morneau, Jim Thome and Jason Kubal, who are all on the disabled list. If that isn't enough, they face one of the top pitchers in baseball in Tim Lincecum, while they throw a struggling Brian Duensing at the Giants. The scouting reports have caught up to Duensing and he has not made the adjustments, and the Twins are paying the price as losers of eight of his last 10 starts. The Twins’ youngsters are losing confidence following a loss, where they have followed by going 7-20 in their next game in the last 27. The Giants are pounding left-hand pitching to the tune of 10-1 in their last 11. After a quality start in his previous time out, Lincecum has led the Giants to a 43-18 mark in his next start. That says all Giants here.
