The Montreal Canadiens were one of the quickest teams out of the gate to open the 2014-15 NHL season. The Habs exploded to a 7-1 start, but things have not been the same since. Montreal has found the win column in just two of their last six, and both of the wins required a shootout to get it done. The four other losses saw three of them by a combined deficit of 12 goals. Minnesota has been a very consistent team. The Wild has lost two straight games, but including the playoffs last year, this team has not buckled to a couple of bad games. In fact, the Wild has not dropped three straight since March 11th of last year, some 42 games ago. The fact is the Wild are now 9-2 in their last 11 games when they are on a two-game losing streak, and they catch Montreal right now in a bad way. Play on Minnesota. Also take the UNDER in this one. Minnesota is averaging just 2.2 goals per game on the road but they are holding opponents to just 2.5. And, Montreal has managed only 2.4 goals per game this season (1.6 per game over their last five). The Canadiens are 32-20 UNDER dating back to last season vs. goalies that save 92%+ of shots on goal (Darcy Kuemper is a 92.2% on the year). Following a road loss over that same period, the Wild are 18-9 UNDER. Take Minnnesota and the UNDER here.
