James Shields is probably pitching his last game for the Chicago White Sox. He will be fortunate to catch on with another team after a terrible season in which he is 6-18 with a 5.82 ERA. The White Sox have lost six of his last eight starts, including 11-3 at Minnesota on Sept. 3 when Shields gave up five runs and four walks in just 2 1/3 innings. The right-hander is 2-8 with a 6.38 ERA since the All-Star break. Hector Santiago generally was pitching well for the Twins before a couple of rough outings over his last two starts. Santiago was the winning pitcher in that same game against Shields in early September and he is 3-0 against Chicago this season with a 1.35 ERA and .157 opponent batting average. He pitched seven shutout innings at U.S. Cellular Field. Shields as a favorite is usually a go-against situation, so take the Twins.
