Milwaukee at Chicago

Chicago missed the playoffs for the first time in four seasons last year, but the Cubs still have much of the team that won the 2016 World Series. Kyle Hendricks will pitch the opener, and he comes off an 11-10 season with a 3.46 ERA and a sparkling .148 opposing batting average with 150 strikeouts. The right-hander was 6-2 with a 2.04 ERA at home in 2019, which was much better than his 5-8 record and 5.02 ERA on the road.  Brandon Woodruff goes for Milwaukee, which finished 89-73 last season, and it's possible the Brewers overachieved some last year. Woodruff was 9-0 at home, but only 2-3 with a 4.41 ERA and .258 opponent batting average on the road. He made one appearance against the Cubs and gave up four runs and six hits in four innings.
