WIN

There is some excitement in Champagne this season as the Fighting Illini have started the season at 2-1. Included in those two wins is a 28-point romp as a home underdog over Cincinnati. The Illini also played well in a 10-point loss to a good Washington team. You have to remember that this is a team that came into the season with just one win in their last 17 regular season games vs. an FBS opponent. A lot of the improvement this season has to do with the maturation of Nathan Scheelhaase at QB. He has thrown for 884 yards at 9 yards per attempt with seven TDs and just two INTs. He should have a big game vs. this poor Miami-Ohio defense that allowed 41 points to Kentucky and 52 to Marshall. The Miami offense has been pathetic. In their three games they have generated a grand total of 21 points, or just 7 per game. As a road underdog the past two seasons, the Redhawks are 0-7 ATS. Illinois has been on the wrong side of too many blowouts, and will seize the opportunity to put one on an inferior opponent. All Illinois in this one.
