Miami has started this season with impressive offensive punch, No. 13 in baseball in runs scored. Their offense will hit in this park - a homer-happy park in Cincinnati, as we saw yesterday when Miami thumped the Reds 8-3 with 12 hits. Omar Infante, Hanley Ramirez and John Buck homered for the Marlins. Because of the one-sided win, Miami was able to rest its best bullpen arms as Ricky Nolasco went eight innings. Carlos Zambrano makes his first start for the Marlins and he is 10-3 in his career in Cincinnati. By contrast the Reds had to use five pitchers yesterday and have aging Bronson Arroyo, who allowed a whopping 46 homers last season. Cincy is No. 20 in baseball in runs scored and the 35-year-old Arroyo was 4-10 with a 4.98 ERA at home last season allowing 27 homers! The Reds are 2-8 in Arroyos’ last 10 starts vs. the National League East and he was 3-7 with a 5.10 ERA and 1.39 WHIP in 16 starts versus teams with losing records in 2011. Play the Miami Marlins.
