Memphis at Denver

Chauncy Billups was just 5-for-17 in his debut with Denver. Don't expect that to happen a second straight game. Even with that, Denver put up 108 points, and allowed 105 in their game against Dallas. Five of the last six meetings between these teams have gone UNDER the total, keeping this one artifically low. THe fact is, the totals in those six gams were set at 231, 228.5, 226.5, 215.5, 220 and 223! That's an average of 224. Now we get a total set 26 points lower! In those six games, these teams averaged 221 points scored. Only one of those games came in lower than this total of 198. Granted, Memphis has been a low-scoring team thus far in 2008, but against this Nuggets defense, they will get theirs. And, assuming Billups doesn't put up a stinker, Denver can easily put up 110+ here. In the favorite role, Denver lets loose with their run and gun. They have gone 58-39 OVER the past couple of seasons in this role. I expect this one to sail over the low total.
