Ed Orgeron got USC to play better when he stepped in as interim coach, and he's doing the same thing at LSU, coming off a 42-7 rout of Missouri. And they did that without star running back Leonard Fournette, sitting out with ankle soreness. Orgeron promised stylistic changes under new offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger and delivered early with four receiver sets. Les Miles is gone, but the guy was a great recruiter and LSU is loaded with talent, especially on defense. LSU ranks #34 in the nation in yards allowed, #11 in points (14.8 points per game). The Gators overachieved last year with little offensive talent but it showed down the stretch, losing their final three games in scoring a total of 24 points. The offense is struggling again, splitting the last two games, losing 38-28 to Tennessee and are coming off a 13-6 win over Vanderbilt as a two-TD favorite. A big blow to the Florida offense was losing starting QB Luke Del Rio, with backup QB Austin Appleby now running the offense. Del Rio is questionable to play and is not 100%. LSU topped the Gators last season, 35-28, leading 28-14 at the half. The Tigers had 221 yards rushing (5.4 yards per carry) while Florida had just 55 rushing yards against the powerful LSU front line at just 1.8 yards per carry. LSU has covered five of the last six meetings and holds all the cards again. Play LSU.
