Los Angeles at Washington

On paper, the Los Angeles Dodgers look like the best team in baseball by a considerable margin. They have not lived up to that so far, and part of the reason is a pitching staff that has battled injuries, and a bullpen that has coughed up some games in the late innings. Clayton Kershaw returns after missing six weeks, so don't expect to see his "A" game, and don't expect him to be around long as he will likely be on a pitch count. Washington will send out Blake Treinen for his first major league start, and he was effective out of the pen with a 1.35 ERA. Washington has the better record in this game, and the line reflects a healthy Kershaw that is in rhythm, but missing six weeks will only work against him in his first start back. Play on Washington.
