Premium Pick

Top pick: #7 (KOCHEES) (4-1) - Colt takes a big drop in class for his first since late July. He's also going turf to dirt and has been competitive on it in the past when facing tougher. Working well locally and he gets a slight edge in a wide open finale to the card.

2nd pick: #11 (Sidepocket Champ) (8-1) - Price play has more early speed than most and that should allow him to get a good position from this outside post. He has some back class and should be involved from start-to-finish.

3rd pick: #12 (G'night) (7-2) - He just missed (a "neck") last out at Del Mar and it came facing a bit tougher. That earned him a career best figure and gelding is an obvious threat if he can repeat it on real dirt.

4th pick: #9 (Industry Leader) (5-1) - Speedy gelding just failed at Del Mar at this level on Aug. 24 in his first ever at this low a tag. Claimed that day by Mike Pender he brings him back quickly at the purchase price and switches him from "poly" to dirt. A contender, but 6-year-olds has consistently had trouble breaking cleanly. Has a shot, but will be over-bet.

5th pick: #1 (Roman Tizzy) (8-1) - Gelding rallied while wide and was only a 1/2 length back of "Industry Leader" at Del Mar on Aug. 24. No-speed type is a factor but needs to avoid a shuffle from his rail post heading into the turn.
