The Golden Flashes came within an overtime loss in the MAC Conference to playing a BCS buster role last season. They have already lost three times this season, but the losses have come to three high-level teams in LSU, Bowling Green and Penn State. Western Michigan has started the season at 0-4. They have lost to some pretty good teams, but what is very telling is a loss at home to Nicholls State as a 30-point favorite. They lost that game despite having a turnover advantage - wow! The defense has been brutal, allowing 37.5 points per game, while the offense has not produced more than 17 points vs. an FBS opponent. QB Alex Carder is sorely missed as the Broncos have tried a pair of QBs this season that have completed less than 45% of their passes and thrown nine INTs. Neither of these teams will be a factor in the MAC this season, but I think Western Michigan is going to struggle to find the win column even once this season. Take Kent State in this game, buying from +2.5 to +3.
