Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (MOVIE MOXIE) (9-2) - She was bet down to heavy favoritism (6-5) when debuting at this level going six furlongs at Churchill Downs June 20. She had a troubled break, recovered to race close up to a fast pace, bid at the 1/4 pole, then weakened to finish 3rd, missing by six lengths. Daughter of 'Street Sense' has worked since, stretches out a furlong, and I give her a slight edge.
2nd pick: #8 (April in Paris) (7-2) - This filly was involved every step when missing by a 'neck' going a mile at Churchill June 20. Competitive in both starts, the homebred is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #10 (Palio Flag) (4-1) - A $350,000 daughter of 'Curlin,' she debuts off of some sharp works for the Asmussen barn, 59 of 315 (19%) first out in 2019-20. Filly draws a fine post at this seven-furlong trip and is a win threat if ready.
4th pick: #11 (She's Into Me) (15-1) - One of a pair of fillies from trainer Ignacio Correas, and they race as separate betting interests. She raced both wide and evenly when debuting in a grass sprint last Aug. at Saratoga and has been training fast locally for her return.
