Milwaukee opened the season in World Championship form at 25-11. They then hit the skids and went 9-19. They have now been playing like they did at the beginning of the season and have broken-out to go 7-1. The bats have been hot, as they have been at .317 for the last week and will be facing the struggling Jorge Delarosa. DelaRosa pitched well into early May with an ERA in the mid 3's. Since then he has worked 43 innings and his ERA has been over seven. He has failed to make it out of the 4th inning in each of his last two starts, and even appeared in relief, and gave up a run in an inning of work. Jeff Suppan will be coming off his worst start of the year, having given up nine earned runs. Suppan had not given up more than four in any other start this season, and it broke a string of 23-straight starts where he had not done so. He hasn't been great, but he has been very consistent. Suppan is a fierce competitor and each time he has gone to the mound and laid an egg he has come back strong. The last three years have seen him yield eight earned runs in a game twice before his last start, and both times he came back giving up 0 in his next start. He has allowed 5+ earned runs on 10 occasions over the past three years, and has come back with 0, 3, 2, 1, 0, 0, 3, 2, 0 and 3 in his next starts. That is just 14 earned runs in 10 games after pitching a horrible game, so we expect him to bounce back today. The Brewers have also torn apart LHP, having gone 15-8 on the season as they feature six players above .300 against LHP. The hot Brewers take the opener in Milwaukee.
