Top pick: #2 (LADY LAZER) - Grey daughter of "Marino Marini" has plenty of early speed and races first off a claim by Peter Miller (who's having a strong meet). Four-year-old tired after setting a fast pace here May 29th in her first start back off a four month layoff and looks all set this evening as she has an excellent four furlong work since the claim. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Cactus Jane) - Claimed last Aug. at Del Mar by trainer Mike Puype for $40K, filly finished fourth six weeks later in a small stakes in her first for the new barn and hasn't run since that Sept. 18th contest at Fairplex. Working above average for her return, her trainer has been on quite a roll for the past six months. Has the rail, and can factor from off the pace.
3rd pick: #5 (Fullbridled's Sis) - Grey filly has some speed and finished third last out facing tougher at this distance racing on the turf. Good small barn drops this home-bred into a claimer, and moves her back to the main track where she broke her maiden almost a year ago. Daughter of "Buddha" should be involved from gate to wire.
