Top pick: #3 (OMINOUS THOMAS) - Appears to be racing back into shape following a 7 month layoff last year and this son of Posse will be dropping down in price and going dirt to "poly" in this spot. Looks like he's nearing his best and can win this at a square price.
2nd pick: #6 (Locksley Hall) - Gelding didn't seem to care for the dirt surface at Santa Anita that he ran on Apr. 9, but that race against tougher looked like only a prep to get him ready for this contest. Takes a big drop in price, continues to work very fast on this surface, and he's run well here in the past. Major factor in this spot.
3rd pick: #4 (River's Chapel) - Very fast gelding showed some promise last year during his two-year-old season and is working fast for his three-year-old debut and first race of any kind since last Aug. He's only one of two horses entered that has won here before, and his maiden win that day last May was the best in his five race career. Trainer Walt Solis drops him into a claimer for the first time and he'll be very tough on the lead if he clears early.
