(# 4) DAY DEE - Drops way down in claiming price which actually looks a bit suspicious since he has been somewhat competitive at higher levels. Trainer Joe Orseno has heated up a bit lately and if you can point your stock to peak at the later stages of race meetings, the fields tend to get much softer as the bigger outfits begin to pull out. That has been the case during the month of April in almost every year at Gulfstream. Like most four-year-old maidens, this one has some negatives but for the most part his form is pretty solid. Thinking here is they just want to try and pick up a purse before heading north.

(# 8) PACKER - Has some speed, the post and a sprinting prep in the slop to set him up for a top-end try. Has a lot of gaps in his performance lines but he has proven that he can run with these on his best days.

(# 7) FOX IN BRONZE - The soundest member of the field has been running right along at a variety of distances since early September. In many of his races he has been where you would want turning for home but cant seem to close the deal.
