Top pick: #5 (PARRANDA) (3-1) - Over the past 14 months this mare by turf champ "English Channel" has gone 15-7-2-2 and has won four of her last five on this surface. Speed/stalker is in career best shape and is coming off a win on Feb. 8 in the G3 "Suwanee River." The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (Tapicat) (5-2) - Stalker ships back from Santa Anita where she finished a close up third in a very strong field in the G2 "Buena Vista" Hdcp. She's a perfect 3-for-3 on this course and is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Effie Trinket) (5-1) - New York-bred went 7-4-2-1 last year and closed out her season with an near miss at Churchill in The "Mrs Revere" stakes (G2) on Nov. 16. Training nicely at Palm Meadows, speed/stalker draws the rail and is a big factor if ready.
4th pick: #8 (Kitten's Point) (6-1) - Lightly-raced Augustin home-bred is the field's strongest finisher and rallied to win over weaker here on Feb. 8. That was her first start since last April and she's working fast for this.
