Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (FAST VENEZUELA) (3-1) - This lightly raced filly is dropping back down and breaks from the rail. A winner in two of her four starts, each came in local sprints. She tired April 5 facing tougher, and along with the drop, she sheds several pounds with apprentice Trejos aboard.
2nd pick: #7 (Princess Ulele) (5-2) - Stalker has finished 3rd here in her last pair, both for a $25K tag. Trainer Dave Fawkes drops her in half ($12,500), and her outside post will give rider Jaramillo some early options.
3rd pick: #3 (Lalali) (2-1) - The morning-line favorite, speed/stalker switches back to the dirt while shortening up in her first off a Carlos David claim, five for his last 15 (33%) off of that transaction. Competitive in three of four on the main track, she's in the mix at a short price.
