Mike Norvell had a disappointing start to his Florida State coaching career as the Seminoles lost 16-13 to Georgia Tech. However, the defense that returned 10 starters did its job as cornerback Asante Samuel had two interceptions and Marvin Wilson blocked two field-goal attempts while Janarius Robinson blocked an extra-point try. Miami defeated Louisville, 47-34, but the Hurricanes will face a much tougher defense in this matchup. The Cardinals racked up 209 yards rushing and 307 through the air against the Miami defense. D'Eriq King was 18 of 30 for 325 yards and three touchdowns for the Hurricanes. This is a revenge game for the Seminoles, who lost last year's meeting, 27-10, and Miami is 2-5 ATS its last seven games following an ATS win. Also, the Hurricanes have not covered their last four games after scoring at least 40 points in their previous game. Miami returns only four defensive starters from last year's 6-7 squad.
