2nd pick: #2 (Explosive Argument) (15-1) - Longshot was a surpris winner at Del Mar on Aug. 11 at odds of 22-1. 3-year-old defeated "Rosamund" that day this lightly raced filly has a fine record on real dirt (6-2-1-1). Fla.-bred has a bullet 5-furlong breeze here five days ago and can factor at a big price.
3rd pick: #7 (Gifting) (5-1) - The 2nd of the Baffert pair, daughter of "Street Cry" stalked, bid, and tired while racing between horses on Aug 10 at Del mar. Race was her first since early June and home-bred is working fast for this attempt. Can impact with her best.
4th pick: #6 (Conkate) (4-1) - Strong finisher has a fine record on conventional dirt (14-3-3-2), and grey filly was very sharp last winter at Santa Anita when last on the dirt. The faster the pace, the better her chances.
