Jordan Zimmermann and his $125 million five-year contract has been a huge bust, but he'll still get the Opening Day start for Detroit, which says something about the state of the Tigers. The right-hander finished 2018 with a 7-8 record and 4.52 ERA overall and a 6.02 ERA in day games. The Tigers lost 11 of their last 14 games on artificial turf and they have lost 12 of their last 16 at Toronto and they lost five of Zimmermann's last six road starts. The Blue Jays counter with Marcus Stroman, who is looking to bounce back from a rough season after suffering some injuries. Stroman had one appearance against the Tigers and gave up one earned run in seven innings. Detroit is 23-55 its last 78 road games and 20-45 its last 65 games versus right-handed starters.
